Abstract

This research is based on Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company employees’ perception on the effectiveness of e-training on employee performance of GPIC.  It has been observed that effective business processes are highly dependent on the performance of high-quality employees, who in turn requires effective training. To maintain competitiveness and compliance with the emerging labor market infrastructure, organizations take advantage of advanced online technologies to train employees faster and more effectively.  The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of e-training on the level of employee performance of Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  The research utilized a descriptive research design using a questionnaire as the data gathering instrument.  The respondents of the study included 94 randomly selected employees of the GPIC who took online training.  The results of the study showed that E-training significantly affects employee performance. In addition, the results also showed that among the variables considered under e-training, infrastructure and efficiency were found significant both at 0.01 level while methods were not found significant holding all other variables constant.  The major recommendation for GPIC is to change the methods applied to the e-training programs. Based on the empirical results the methods fail to establish a significant effect with employee performance.
