Abstract

This research aims to analyze and determine if a relationship exists between training assessments and post-training employee performance. The General Coordination for Governorates conducts yearly training and then evaluates those programs as well as gathers performance reviews for trainees. The theoretical framework was chosen to be Kirkpatrick’s model of evaluation, as it touches on all aspects of training and allows for constructive analysis. The researcher defined two variables. The first, Training Assessments, was subdivided into four independent dimensions, and the second, Post Training Performance, was composed of three dependent variables. To measure those dimensions, indicators were defined using the current Guide Manual for Evaluating the Effectiveness of Training, General Coordination for Governorates: this ensured that respondents would be familiar with the format and could easily participate in the data collection. A survey questionnaire was prepared, using a common Likert-scale for all questions. Upon receiving the input from respondents across all training sessions, the researcher analyzed the data gathered using means, standard deviations, and the Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficients. Four hypotheses were determined to uniquely assess whether a relationship exists between the four Training Assessment dimensions and Post Training Performance. With all calculated correlation coefficients, the results were overwhelming, and all hypotheses were rejected. Furthermore, the survey questionnaire highlighted the elements of Training delivery, which trainees saw as least and most satisfactory. The research concludes that a strong positive linear relationship exists between Training Assessments and Post-Training Performance. This study numerically details how strong these relations are and proves that an analytical and statistical approach to studying the interrelation between training and performance can effectively contribute to the improvement of professional development within organizations.
